I remembered there were a few obstacles I overcame with God by my side. In the year 2005, I had goods worth HK$400,000 delivered to the US only to find that the company had bankrupted. Apart from not getting the payment expected, I yet had to repay the cost to the supplier. Thank God that though I had a hard time in getting the money, I finally managed to have every cent of my debt repaid.
In 2008, I lost the business which I used to own. But in 2011, God let a brother in the church hand over his business to me at his retirement and I have been running it ever since. I realized I could not have had this chance if there had not been God’s Help. I really thanked God for it. Later, my company was in need of a sum of money for merchandizing. The amount ranged from HK$180,000-HK$190,000. However, we had insufficient cash flow. As it was the company’s business, I did not intend to use my own money. Just as I was figuring it out, a friend called and, without learning my difficulty, to my surprise, he initiatively prepaid me a loan of HK$150,000 to HK$160,000 for the purchase of goods from me in later days. I thanked God that He made people work together for the good of me. Besides enabling me to have sufficient capital, it also saved my time in transferring and depositing the money in the bank.
God really has been taking care of me and my endeavour. His grace makes me feel at-ease in my work. I can tell Him my hardship in life and financial situation. He will listen to me and make all things work together for good to those who love Him.
Christians do encounter pressures in life, family and work. But it is precious that through these pressures, God makes us lean on and experience Him more. He can truly bear our heavy burden. Let me present to you a verse from the bible: “Come onto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” (Mathew 11:28)
As a stranger in a new country, you may have to face different kinds of stress in life and feel confused as to where the road leads. But if you are willing to cast your load to God, He will surely bear it for you, leading you all the way on.
