Hello, everybody! I am called Finney. My wife is called Irene, my elder son 卓謙 and his sister 卓君. We have been in Warrington for half a year. We desire to live a worthwhile life and have a glorious new page in accordance with God’s will.
I had never thought of coming here because I did not know there is such a place. It was until May this year when my church in HK planned to preach the gospel in Warrington to the immigrants from HK. Having heard that this is not a very big city situated in between Manchester and Liverpool and with many Hong Kong immigrants gathered to create a big harvest field for the gospel, I decided, after praying, to emigrate here.
In the early days after our arrival in the UK, a place which we had never set feet on, we had to make adaptation to many things in daily life, whether big or small. Thanks to God and the help of the brothers and sisters in the church, we could find a premises during isolation time and school places for our kids. We also bought a car soon after. God’s graces were really sufficient and always came in time.
After moving in our new home, we found that its environment was not quite the same as what we had expected. But God encouraged us through a Hong Kong neighbour. The father of our neighbour said, “This place is very convenient for living and good for dwelling too.” It seemed that through his encouragement, God made known to us that there were His love plan and arrangement. Besides, in many daily matters, God gave us help through this Hong Kong neighbour.
There are many Hong Kong people living in Warrington. Every time when we see Hong Kong people we have a kind of intimacy and even stop to talk. In supermarkets and parks, we have met many Hong Kong families. By meeting again and again, whether at meals, BBQ, picnics, group meetings and Sunday gatherings, our friendship gets deeper and deeper. In the winter holidays, we even arrange activities and interest classes for children and outings for immigrated Hog Kong families. We feel that the Lord Jesus has not forgotten us. He is bringing us back, one by one, to His love and heart.
I hope that, in Warrington, The Lord can keep on seeking many Hong Kong people and bringing them back to God’s home. I also hope that the church at Warrington and its counterparts in the other cities can be the blessings and help for many people! In this generation, let’s offer to God our most beautiful present.
